Maddi Focken Honored as the Forney Messenger Player of the Week

Maddi Focken’s volleyball journey began on a softball diamond.

The Crandall High School senior was playing Little League softball at age 10, and when the season ended, her team decided to try volleyball.
“I fell in love with the sport from there,” Maddi said.

Now competing for CHS and at the national club level, Maddi has earned numerous medals and multiple college offers—all while maintaining a 3.6 GPA.

“Keep working hard, listen to your coaches, and don't let mistakes discourage you,” she said. “Most importantly, have fun because friendships are just as important as the sport.”
Maddi plans to play collegiate volleyball while studying to become a neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) nurse.

Congratulations to Maddi for appearing in the Forney Messenger as their Player of the Week.
